Mono vs. Stereo?

If mono is better for base.... Then would running a 2 channel amp in bridged mono have the same effect on the subs?

Anyone have experience with a Skar audio RP-1500.1DM 1500w Mono amp?
I had two Skar amps (4ch & a monoblock) go bad within a year. Post #2 is an excellent recommendation.
