City won't go after her. Only individual for claims that were made. He basically wants everyone to pay for his suffering. Some are like that. It is a HUGE fine if you don't have parking or ramp ( if needed ) for them. Make sure she post signs up for restrooms. IF she rents, like I said, nothing can be done. It falls on the owner.He bult it to his specs or engineer specs. So nothing you mom did.

in court ask him why he was in your mom's tailoring store like: "does it really matter if your pants are a little long...I mean really dude???"

trip over his wheelchair in court and sue the court for not having wide enough aisles or sue him for assault.............

The samething happaned in my town. My wifes work was hit by some guy in a wheelchair and sued for not having a accessable bathroom, the front door threshold was too tough for a wheelchair and the parking lot didin't have a ramp in the front for a wheelchair. They didn't have to pay any money to the guy but they did have to fix all the problems(they owned the building). Funny thing about it was the guy never came to any of the 5 or 6 restraunts he sued, but instead had a lawyer go to them all and check them out. Then if the lawyer found something wrong he would tell the handicapped individual to go to the place and complain. I think I remember hearing that they both ended up getting into trouble and there was supposed to be some sort of law or regulation about people trying to do the samething. Sorry for the long story, but to ansewer the question about your mom being liable for the repairs, one word NO! The owner of the building will be, but be prepared for a hike in the rent if he/she has to fix a bunch of issues.

Not everyone in a wheelchair is looking for, or even wants, any kind of handout. What is really fvcked up is that many of you that posted here and many more that read this will now have an instant bias toward anyone you see in a wheelchair. That alone will do more harm to the people out there in wheelchairs than making a door a little eaiser to open or a counter a little lower will ever help them.
