MazzaSEC Build log! Sundown, Fi, Deka, PG RSDS

Mike came by yesterday and carpeted the box! Came our REAL nice. Although he ordered tan. Parts express "tan" looks more of a brown. Nonetheless still looks great!

Well, on a side note I played around with my TL today in my acr and did some playing around with the seats and managedd to get a new number 154.9 legial , and with the mic in the floor still everything sealed up I poped a 155.8 can still get more gains out of the box but I'm not happy with the way it can out so after Motorsport Nationals I'll be ripping it out and starting over.

Oh and here is some pics of my box when it was being built.

This is the first wall I have done. Ran into some problems and I have issuses with cancelation beces of the odd angles in the back of the box.

Here is what I am talking about

I'm going to go down to a 12.5 cubic foot box that is more efficient and I am droping down to two sub with biger port tuned at 55Hz (Thats what my car peaks at)

18's have more cone are than 15's but with the larger cone makes harder to presurerise as fast, pluse 18's are for low bass. If the system is being used strickly for burps then they won't do so well when the res freq is in the 55HZ+ range. Look at some of the people posting big numbers out there (160+) alot of them don't use 18's

18's are for low bass?

the most common misconception about subs is that smaller subs are for punchy bass and larger subs are for low bass

not true at all.

seriously dude? So could you explain how my 12" MT in 3.5 cubes tuned to 31hz got louder on the low notes than my MT 18" in 4 cubes tuned to 45hz did? Think maybe it had something to do with the box design and tuning?

Ok well anwser this, why do all you suv guys drop down to 4 12's and get a louder score than running 2 18's. 2 18's still have more cone area than 4 12's the box is still tuned the same. only volume may change.
