I cant I only have d2 subs. Its just wierd cause before I was running 2 1500d's at .5 stock alt and 1 1400 under the hood and 1 2400 in the rear and was dropping to 11.7 with STOCK alt and 2 Batteries. Now with a 250 amp alt and like 4 batteries I gained .2 of a volt...

u can run one sub at 1ohm since its a dual 2ohm but i dont think it can handle that much power haha, if you could possibly not sure but u could try 2 1500's at .5 ohms again or w/e ohms work for your sub and see wat u get for volts, those 3000d at .5 might take alot of amps and not so efficient only thing i can figure

that or try to shorten your runs of 1/0 as in one day take everything out of the truck and run like a 5ft run from front to back batterys outside the truck, and hook everything up outside and see wat drop it is haha seems weird but if u get better voltage then u need more runs of 1/0 and lots of it possibly

Bah, scratch some of the stuff I said way up top ^^^ about the initial runs you have. I wasnt thinking about it.

With even a single 1/0 run, from the front batt to the rear bank, your not going to have more power on tap then you can flow through your wire, if the alts producing a maximum of 250 amps.

You can get between 200 and 250 amps through a single 20-25ft run.

What would cause a full 406amp draw though? With the frequency changing I am sure its not likely to happen on just music.

I am measuring the drop at the amp. Reads 11.8 Front battery reads like 12.4

Man, that just seems to me like you should double up on runs. But ****......Im stumped.

instead of going to the store and buying 70 bucks more worth of wire

pull the batteries out and buy a battery charger

either wire them up in the house, o charge them one at a time.

get one thats autosensing, and just let em run on the charge for a couple of days

that should help.

i know what the issue is, you arent worried that the drop will hurt the amps, you are mad because you spent over a thousane in equipment, and gained .2 volts.

if by chance i was thinking of getting an H.O. alt, you just reminded me not too....i always thought that it was a gimmick, UNLESS the alt(s) were strong enough to power the whole systems draw, which im guessing it isnt.

Yeah right when I turned my comp off last night I thought about posting that up for him.

When did the batts last get a good solid charge? That might help get the voltage up......cuz thats the deal, the batts should be able to handle most of the draw, while the alt should maintain them.

However, thats also why I dont mind a HO alt, never having to charge your bank, or atleast not as often. Unless your non stop wangin full tilt and never topping off the batts.

a factory alt is designed to run 90% of its power for the cars electronics and 10% for accessories ( radar detectors, stuff to plug into ciglighter) in order to gain from a aftermarket alt that 10% would have to be enought to offset the current draw of the amp ur using.. this is why u see people run 2 alts 1 for the vehicle 1 for the system and it works very well... so in all saying if u have a factory 80amp alt and are runnin a amp that draws 300a of current u would need a 370amp alt to see a good gain

thats the thing though

i dont have to worry about that, i have had my setup in for a year, and just now i ned to top them off

so ill buy a charger soon.

Do you have any idea what imp rise your getting with music?

And dont know if its been asked but wire your subs at a higher imp and see what happens.
