I am trying to figure out is there an easy way to match amps and subs. I am concerned with buying an amp that will be too powerful for a set of subs or not powerful enough.
I do understand looking at the ohm ratings by looking at what the amps and subs are rated at concerning ohms. So matching an amp in 2 ohm mode works better with subs rated for 2 ohms.
My question is the RMS ratings. If an amp is rated at 100 watts by 4 channels, that will put 25 watts per channel output from the amp.
So do I judge what subs to get by the rms rating of the subs or the peak power handling?
So should I look for subs rated at 25 watts RMS or 25 watts peak power handling?
Also any suggestions will gladly be taken.
