The box isnt the problem. It will probably burp an impressive number.
But if he plays music, the coils will be toast. Unless he is talking about a Steve Meade demo, where someone gets in and he plays a 45hz song for 15 seconds.

i like my daily. ill just take it easy on them and see how they do. i might sell my 2 15s for 4 12s

finish it and see how it does and if you're happy keep it and if not rebuild with knowledge you learn from this one.
Will be a lot of people waiting for your impression of it to the ear and also how it does on the meter...

unfortunately I think this is a pretty accurate scenario unless you can exercise restraint when playing it daily. But I'm hoping you prove us all wrong, seriously...

Heres a link to a couple pics after we got it in. Designed it last night as we built it today. Took 9 hours. Back seats are all the way foward and the seatbacks barely lean back. Not really able to sit in them anymore, but it qualifies it for Stock 3.

This is prolli your best option to be honest, you'll add a lil bit of cone area and subs will be a lot more comfortable with the power.

Hence the reason why all the loudest bassracers use tons of cone area and don't have insane amounts of power per subs... Just like you said about Mackey's setup, it can be done for a short period of time but it will not last.
But to the OP - I'm guessing you're planning on running the woofers w/ 5k @ 1ohm x 2 channels?? Why not instead of smoking your woofers just run it 2k @ 4ohm x 2 channels for the time being, and get a more efficient box built for the time being... Then figure out a more proper combination of woofers that can handle that power daily (like 4 12s or 15s), then wire it down to whatever u want and run the 10kw daily... Right now you don't have the electrical or woofers to run it daily and not burn something up.

If u chose to go w/ HDC3s again something like 9-11ft3 @ 36hz w/ 110-140 sq in of port would just be nasty off 10k daily. Remember Skip01s old setup, he had 4 12" HDC3s off 2 AB VFL 500.1 @.5ohm each and that setup was just an insane daily driver. I can't remember the exact number but i know it was like a 154-156 @ 4? hz.

this amp i got from my friend had 4 12 hdc3 coppers at like even 8 cbs i think thats what he said. it was 2 cbs per sub. doing 155

yeah but i love my aq's. out of hearing alot of subs i love them, and for what they are.
