Loudest sub off....160 watts!

In this power range, the enclosure size/type/alignment will play a much larger role in output potential than will which brand of speaker you chose. For HT, the sky is the limit on enclosure size. Spend 20% of your time picking the particular sub, and 80% of the time designing the sub enclosure and integrating it into your existing system.

I don't think iv'e seen a single sub recommended by more than one person...lol.

Whatever it is, it needs to be D4. I'm using a 4 channel amp, and bridging 2 of the channels to one VC and bridging the other 2 to the other VC. Yes, I know it's not the best thing to do but that's my only decent option. Amp is rated for 400 watts, but i'm going to set the gains for 80 watts/channel...matched as closely as possible via DMM.

The JBL GTOs do well with very little power. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif The 15 is rated @96db. I installed a 12" in my buddies truck with a little 50w pioneer amp and was utterly impressed.....Weird story on this. I built him a box and I told him he could use this old RF 400 watt amp till he can get another. He went to hook it up and he hooked the power wires up backwards, instant death. It was no biggie though I hadn't used it in years. Anyway, I wasn't going to let him borrow any of my other amps so I searched my garage because I knew I had some cheap amps somewhere and I found the Pioneer. I was like hmmm what will it do with this little thing. Very surprising.....

+1 for the JBL GT (old school) if you can find one. Very sensitive driver...that would be enough power to shake the room, in the right box of coarse. Bonus-its available in D4

Jensen Imperial Horn...Decware publishes plans for a subwoofer version.

Better bring a truck for the wood it takes.

Really looking for one of those JBL GTO's, but can't find a cheap one with dual 4 coils //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Honestly, A little :p

I think I might just pick up an RE RE for 40/shipped. I owe some lady 807$ cause I backed into her the other day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Let me know where you are getting RE SE's for only $40! I'll buy 50 of them.

If I were you, I would scavenge craigslist every single day for a little while. You'll find something for stupid cheap eventually. I got a pair of 10" Type R's in mint condition for $20 yesterday. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
