looking for component set ~300

This will give you an idea. I have since made a new adapter out of 1/2 mdf that fits in the hole better. This pictured is 3/4' mdf and pushes the speaker out too far. my current set up looks much better.

hmm alright
well does the adapter that comes with crutch field come in any size bigger than 5 1/4?
the link you posted is for the focals. the focal mid is 5 1/4. you could go with bigger mids. the adapter is focal made and should already be in the component box. They are pretty much like a 5x7 but with a cut out for a 5 1/4" mid. I'm not really sure what you're asking

ok well say we dont go with the focals and went with pioneer premeirs with a 5 1/4" mid, it would come with the door adapter for 6x8 to 5 1/4".. if i got a 6.5" comp set with a 6.5" mid it wont come with an adapter for it because the mid is too big and CF doesnt have a 6x8 to 6.5" adapter

crutchfield also wont give me the option of installing in the front doors unless its a 5 1/4" speaker i have chosen either, it gives me the option of kick panel only.

The 6.5 set is called 6 3/4" but the mid itself is actually 6.5. The adapters are in the box for the 6 3/4(6.5's). you dont have to buy anything extra.

i'm not sure. I pretty much ended my research on components when I found these things. Just keep looking until you find something you like, and just be sure you know what comes with it. I dont think a whole lot of manufactuerers include the 6x8(5x7) adapters, if not, then you can simply make your own, or have someone on here make them.

so what would sound better and more clear, those focals i posted or those premiers?

thing about the adapter, its a 6x8 adapter and id like to mount the tweeter in the adapter so i dont have to cut a hole in his car somewhere
The phase plug comes out of the mid and the tweet will go in its place becoming a coax of sorts.

No holes needed to cut.
