Looking for a dirt bike

u should go check the bike out, see that it runs fine, everything is on the bike like it should be all stable, thats an 10 year old bike, might be decent but u gota go check to see if its still working and alive..

id kinda say get somthing newer than 02 because of engine changes n such, but if it runs fine ull be good with the 98, that bike will haul pretty good... easily lean to ride and dont overpower n jus let go clutch and shit lol, its pretty ez to figure out

shit craigslist it, or local ebay!!

Yeah, i'm definately gonna look it over good. I know it's not the same but I ride my 4 wheeler pretty hard and have had some fun times on it. Now i'm just wanting a new challenge.

don't buy a bike without looking at it.

And before you buy one check all the bearings for play. If its a 2 stroke it wouldnt hurt to take off the pipe and take a look at the piston/cylinder

go to uship.com I'm sure you could get it shipped to you for a couple hundred bucks
lol for a few hundred bucks that really sucks lol. that is so exp lolzz

i got my 03 ktm 300 for 1500 shipped to my door, runs fine everything is in good shape, new tire kinda crazy the bike is nice, only thing was i had to reject it and clean the filter, which was piece of cakkkkeeee and i have no regrets buying that bike for the price and being a 2 stroke

the accel from 0-60 is pretty crazy

but for casual riding id still say 4 stroke... 2 stroke if ur a bit more into it and want more hands on type thing

the 98 yz400 is a heavy bike. but as long as you dont try anything crazy at first you'd be fine. And being a bike that old, you WILL have problems with it. It's like a package that comes with every old bike //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Ask the guy when was the last engine rebuild and go from there. that means, top end, bottom end, crankshaft, gaskets, crankshaft bearings, piston/piston rings, etc...

I used to change the piston in my 125 atleast once a year depending on how hard i rode it.

My vote is get a 125/250 2 stroke. Much more fun. Faster. I started on a xr100 then out grew it by a lot. Then moved up to a CR250. It was a blast. But, I was hitting the track every weekend. Never trails. The last I heard Yamaha was makin a pretty good bike. But that was back in like 02. YZ125 was a bad boy back then.

The yz125 still is the bad boy! well of the 125's at least...sucks the 250f's are taking over. But i ride/race an 05 yz125 and it's a great bike. The thing you have to watch out when buying used 4 strokes is the engine. If it wasn't maintained and seizes up your gonna have a hefty repair bill. Yamaha and Suzuki both make good 125's. Search craigslist for yz125 and rm125. You should be able to find one for a decent price.
