New iTunes update ... FVCK YOU APPLE

You probably didn't lose the music, just the XML file that stores the database, look where you stored the music, if its still there just add it to the library.

The music is still on my ipod, hard drive, and a backup on the external hard drive, but I don't have an XML backup. Last time this happened, I just imported all of the music without using an XML file and most of the song tags/titles were messed up. Last time I only had 2,000 songs, not 15,000. UGH. I tried restoring my library AND the "previous itunes library" backup and neither did anything. Any suggestions?

if the ipod itself still has the music... download a program called podutil and it will rip all the songs for free.
Thanks for this and all of the help guys. I really do appreciate it. I will go this route if there is no simpler way of restoring.

just view the ipod like a drive, go to "show hidden", and then in the itunes library, click add files/folders and drag it all back in. Just did that to my gf's 33 gigs of music.
