Let it begin (Box for 18in BL)

I just dropped scott an email, I don't see a # listed on the website, hopefully he'll chime in.

I was planning at tuning around 32hz, but whatever now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

k guys this is just a generalization and a good rule of thumb to follow when building an enclosure for the fully loaded BTL's.

12" - 1.75-3 cubic feet tuned to 30-35Hz for daily driving applications.

15" - 3 (depending on tuning) to 5 cubic feet tuned 30-35Hz for a daily application.

18" - 5-8 cubic feet ported, 30-35Hz tuning.
Eh?

I'm thinking I can start w/ 6, and figure it out from there.

well i just did some figuring and with 6 cu/ft a slot port 5"H x20"W 20.6"L would tune it to 34 and would need about 7.6-7.7 cubes before sub/port displacement.

hmm i am not sure if you have that kind of room available without building in the trunk at least partially.

how big is the opening behind the rear seats?

it might be possible but it wont be easy.

The opening behind my rear seats is ABOUT 30-35 inches long, and probably 10inches max high?

I'm gonna be sad if I have to downgrade to 15 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

can someone double check something for me.

i think i am going crazy.

with a box that has internal dimensions of 22.5 x 38.5 x 15.25 i am getting 7.65ish cubic feet

it just doesn't seem right, but i have checked it a couple times with the same result every time.

if that is the case it is seeming more possible to fit this monster in there.

Someone please //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'll do it as well.

I have the email written up to sales@ficaraudio.com explaining my situation and my need to downgrade to a 15" lol.

wtf is the formula? Lxwxh right?

I got 77.25, lol, I guess I have to convert into feet. Sigh. Hate math.

lol, divide by 12 much?

I got 6.43??

SO what does that mean, we can fit it? lol
38.5 wide, 15.15 high, 22.5 deep?
those are the internal dimensions.

it would be 24d x 40w x 17h if i am correct which i believe we could fit in your trunk

or a modified version of that to make it fit better.
