Least gauge wire you would use?

Too be on the safe side go with at least a 12, most regular speakers use a 16 (components and coaxils). But their also not running more than 200 watts usually. Since I am guessing u'll be pushing 600 u should go with a 12, or even a 10. 4 feet of 10 guage should run u under well under $10 anyways.

Also I think using too small of a wire can burn up the wire and/or the wire will catch on fire, not positive tho.

I think that is right. If a wire is too small to carry the current it will release it as heat, melting wires.

Go with 10 gauge for your run.
