2nd battey or just swap under hood?

i have to get a yellow top, obviously, but what would produce better results... replacing my battery under the hood or adding a 2nd battery just for the amp? i am not planning on upgrading my alt, just big 3. thanks

if you have two batteries in parallel they both should be the same (correct me if i'm wrong).

i was just saying if you want to run two batteries (one under hood, one in trunk) and wire them in parallel, you'll want to have two of the same battery.

well since ur not doing alt upgrade u might as well get yellow top just for amp, unless u plan on competiting cuse that puts u in different classes.

u could do that. it doesnt have to be the same battery

i'm not completely sure, i've never ran a dual battery setup, but it seems that if you were to put them in parallel you'd want two of the same to avoid charging problems.

if a problem occurs then having 2 of the same would be advised. 2 of the same usually yeilds better results but i would say 60-70 percent of people who add a second low esr deep cycle battery dont have the same batteries and the majority dont have problems. im not going to say i never seen a set up though where one of the 2 batteries didnt get a charge though.
