Laptop Problem

**** HP, I've had so much shit go wrong with this garbage.

Anyways something new started today, the screen just randomly goes dark. The image is there but not lit up so you can barely see it. If i close the lid then open it back up again the light comes on. It was really hot today for the first time in a while so idk if it has anything to do with this, though i dont think it did this last summer. Anyways any ideas?

Call HP i've had them fix all kinds of shit for free out of warranty.

They even sent a free shipping box.

agreed. my aunt dropped her laptop and broke the hinge. she got on the 24/7 online support (which is awsome. there very helpful there) and explained the situation to the rep. the rep told her how much it would be to fix it and my aunt said ok. thats fine. well then the rep said that since my aunt was being so nice to her that they would fix it for free. it was like 6 months out of warranty or so. i have also needed there help for bothe mine and my GF's laptops and they have been great. they do usually send a free shipping box with proper packing materials also. just get on there online support and ask them to diagnose. they will do all that they can to help.

The backlight on the screen is bad. See that all the time in the shop. Don't wast the money on the inverter. New screen is $125-175 on ebay. Easy as pie to replace. I'd still try to get HP to fix it though. If its a dv2000, 6000, 9000 many models have extended warranties for issues like that.

Well they kept sending him ones that didn't work.

and they kept sending him new ones until he got one that was perfect.
