L7 Vs. XXX Vs. Type R

im not saying that the L7 cant be used as a sql sub, but it takes more work and testing.

Not round, it all matters on the box and the power you are giving it. IMO, the L7's require to much tuning to get them to sound good.

Square driver are supposedly louder, but lack SQ. I have a friend that has a pair of HiFonics Atalas 12" (square), and they loud as f**k and have the SQ.

u guys need to get out more and go beyong juss this forum. u guys will see numerous sq awards bein won by kicker. involving the L7s and i believe someone ran an solo x for sq, i may be wrong. dont underestimate the abilites of the L7s fellas. i love the way my L7s sound.

Anyway L7s do have decent SQ if you put them in right box, instead of the small boxes I always see them in.

On the contrary, the only time I've heard an L7 sound "good" was in a "small" box with relatively little port area. A large box is the way to get them to play low and loud, but as far as response goes, they lose alot of tightness.

get type-X,rather than type-R(but re would be probably best choice out of these...)

Overall if you listen to mostly rap just go with the L7's

i think im gonna go with the XXX,

i had some '03 L7's, i was just trying to see if the 2006 ones had better SQ

ive heard to much back and forth about Type R's, no one will give me a straight, un-biased answer

and finally, 1400 RMS should be enough to get me started with the XXX, someone on here is running theres off just a jl 1000/1, if i need more i'll upgrade amps.
