L7 Vs. XXX Vs. Type R

all are single 15" subs, looking for the best SQL.

L7 would be 2006, and the type R would be the 2005.

i like alot of rap, but i also like some metal/hardcore music everyonce and awhile.

so basicly im looking for SPL and good kick drum sound.

will be powered with a hifonics bx1605, puts out ~1400 RMS in 1 ohm

suggestions on sub, box, tuning, and why please

I've never heard a quality sounding install of a L7(I'm starting to believe there aren't any) so I'd say Type R.

hmmmmmmmmmm, tuff 1, i say flip a coin between the R and L7.lol best advice i can give ya. but the Rs do sound a lil betta than the L7s. but L7s arent bad sounding. they can sound smooth on RnB songs

Please stop. SQanything and L7 shouldnt be mentioned in the same sentence. Sorry but all of the L7's ive heard are loud but no sq at all. so id say eliminate the L7 and go between the Type R and XXX. Btw all of the opnions you get will be biased.

I guess you guys haven't met anyone w/ a proper box build. You guys are dumb lol. My L7's rock the world w/ their SQ abilities...lol

Overall if you listen to mostly rap just go with the L7's

I would agree with the rap part and the L7's. But yes, Most every L7 i have heard is setup in a big ported box cause the person thinks they are billy cuz they own a L7. btw billy=billy badass, i guess its a southern thing. But correct me if im wrong. The L7 wasnt really meant for sq let alone sql. I trust that yours puts out some sq but thats because you actually strived to get it that way because thats what you wanted. While most other subs in the catagory produce better sq.

If you like rap loud, then get the L7. It will be loud, but the SQ wont be as great.

u guys need to get out more and go beyong juss this forum. u guys will see numerous sq awards bein won by kicker. involving the L7s and i believe someone ran an solo x for sq, i may be wrong. dont underestimate the abilites of the L7s fellas. i love the way my L7s sound.
