Kick Panel - Newbie Needs Help

Hey guys!

First off I'd like to say this forum is awesome and has really inspired me to get my hand dirty and try to tackle my first pair of fiberglass kick panels.

I feel like I have a good grasp on the concepts and step needed to construct these kicks but I am confused on one thing.

How do you wire the speaker going into the kick? The kicks would become sealed once complete, so how do I run speaker wire into the side of the kick? Do I initially put the speaker wire inside the kick and where it exits the kick, I seal that?

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks guys!

route the speaker wires through a sealed hole in the kick panel, then terminate on a molex plug so you can remove the kick if necessary. once complete, drill a hole just larger than the speaker wire, then seal the hole up with silicone or other product. locate the wire penetration in a location that won't be crimped or stressed once installed, and takes your intended wire routing into consideration.

or you can use binding posts on the kick if you have a safe location for them that won't touch metal or ground out.

Building them is pretty quick and painless. Getting them aimed correctly is what takes some time. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
