Plan is to do 10 8's in a wedge behind the seat that uses a blow through for airspace. have 3 issues and my proposed fixes just want to have them verified or your opinion.

1. Seeing that i have a max of 17.5 inches i have to have the box sitting on the bed floor. By doing this i cant leave a lip in the front bed wall for the accordion boot to connect to. There is not enough room to build a step in the bottom of the box because the motors will hit.

My solution is to use 3/8 U-channel and build a frame that will surround the cut-out and be welded to the front of the bed wall. So instead of attacking to the actual bed wall it attaches to the lip on the u channel (which i can weld 3/8 below the bottom cutout which gives the boot clearance.

2. Bed/cab flex seeing that the bed and cab flex separately you cant hard connect the two together by bolting the box into the bed and the cab without causing issues.

solution 1. Hard mount the the box into the bed only and let the front of the box float inside the cab. Weatherstrip around the cutout force box against it then bolt it into the bed. And remove one of the bottom pieces of 3/4 MDF of the front wedge portion which will keep the wedge portion from touching the cab floor.

Solution 2. hard mount the box in the bed and remove the lower piece of MDF off the front wedge and put a 1 inch piece of soft rubber there to help support the front of the box.

3. Port on driver or passenger side?

Im thinking drivers as it would load the passenger side.

this is the picture of the box.

Everything you said sounds fine. The flex between the cab and the bed on an average truck can be as much as 2" or more if going offroad or heavy potholes. I would make your cutout about 2-3" or more larger than the box and use a D-profile weatherstripping to seal the mouth of the box to the cab.

Port in the middle would work well. If you're going for a competition the meter will be in the driver's seat about 20" back from the windshield so you want to optimize the sound to hit your meter about 4-5" in front of your face.
