Just reconed my sub and now it wont play. WTF????

Just did my recone that I got from ssacket a while back. Hooked everything up and it wont play and my amp keeps going into protect when the sub is hooked up. I touched the wires to a 9v battery to test it and the wires jump but the sub wont move at all. Hooked my DMM up and both coils read at 1.7. Its a d2 sub. I followed the re-coning directions to the T.

Any ideas?

Can you push the cone down??Probably isn't aligned in the gap correctly

seeing as everything works not hooked up to your amp, maybe your amp is the problem?... Just a thought.

The sub wont move when I touch the wires to a 9volt, so its not the amp.

Should I send the sub back to ssacket if its faulty? I bought the sub several months ago and blew it. I ordered the recone and did it myself.

did you try testing each coil ? if the + and - are fliped on one of the coils sub wont do any thing

Ummm. OK something fishy is going on now. Now both coils are reading 0. WTF???

That happened to me. lol. I was pissed til I found out.

if it reads 0 its not connected, maybe u broke a lead off?
