jl setup help

But how many watts are you running them at? The only thing that is really going to make them louder is by sending more power to them, but I am assuming that with a JL W6, you have ample power behind it...?
or a nice ported box.....positioning......lotta other things to make a sub louder then power.

The sub amp combo is a good combo and pushes that sub as far as it can probably go. The best way to increase that subs spl, which was said before, is to build a strong ported box and move the box around to see where it sounds loudest or best to you. Upgrade the wire because you should but I would not mess with a cap unless you want it for show with the digital display etc. Those amps do not suffer from voltage drop unless it is significant, they have a regulated power supply as long as it is between 11-14.4 or so. Big box with big port(s) is the way to maximize most subs spl. Also use Dynamat or another sound deadner whereever possible if you have it in your trunk.

good luck

the 500/1 is the amp i have and im not changing it up for any other amp right now i have it it a slot port box aimed at the back of the back seat so i can flip the seats down n have the sub faceing right into the car. is this a bad idea is there any other position for it to make more sound .... aimed to the rear of the car i supose?
