Is my system wearing out?

I suppose that it is possible that I have gotten used to it. I do take breaks from it... 4-5 months in a row during the winter. The reason that I think it's fading is not because I don't think it's loud enough, but because I have to turn it up to hear it over the other sounds (wind, water, etc). Thoughts on this?

I have been into loud audio for a few years now and I have trouble picking up music or conversation over ambient noise (engine whir, wind, water, background convos), so I would still attribute it to declined sensitivity due to exposure to loud sounds.

Maybe you're right then! I had never considered it, but it IS possible. My wife always says it's too loud anyway, but I may use this as an excuse to at least get some new speakers. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

If you can run it by your wife more power to ya. I still get griped out for the TRFs sitting in my garage. I'm still trying to get funds together for a box for them

I'm lucky I'm working off my box with helping jaydubb with his ho alt and other wiring modifications and small repair while I'm in there, then I can get this mtx 7500 pre-fab out of my car it's not the worst pre-fab in the world but it's tuned kinda high and the port's a little small for two T1's.

Pre-fab, burn him at the stake. Love you see what you would do with a nice 8cu ported box tuned to about 34 on those bad boys.

Oh don't get me wrong I can build but I'm in a apt and no longer a shop foreman since the economy went to hell!

It was nice but it did sssoooooo much damage to that poor car, there are rips in the sheet metal through out the trunk from flex, not to mention having to replace the trunk latch both upper and lower about every two months because it was being cut in two.
