yeah shipping might be a pain but you could get so much more amp for the money. my amp is clean power as well as alot of others dc sundown skar etc. look into a saz2500 you can snag one for around 800$ brand new with warranty puts out 1200 @2 ohms so youll be right around 1k at 3 those amps are under rated. plus if you upgrade yoru substage eventually youll have a 1 ohm and below stable amp for the future

Good point, I do see myself upgrading down the road. Every time I build something its never enough, and end up doing it better the second time.

that would save you alot of money or you could land an amp like mine for around that cost maybe less. its up to you but if you add another w7 later or change subs stage different amp will leave you ALOT better off

I think it retails at 1300-1400 right now. He will give it to me 950 no tax. He said he just bought 50,000$ worth of JL so he got a good deal.
Is it worth it at that price? I know they hold resale value pretty good.

that aint nothing but about 10 amps & 5 subs from JL. lulz just kidding. you can easily find a better amp way cheaper then $950

not entirely true. but then again most pple dont play test tones as low as 15 hz like i do.
OP, you most likley are bottoming out ur sub like everyone else has said. turn ur bass boost down, and keep ur volume at a sane level. if you hear that noise turn the volume down! go and get an amp with a subsonic filter and your problem will most likley go away. set ur subsonic at ~26hz. this should give you a good enough roll off.

lol, alot of the movies i watch have crap down to 10hz. one movie has this scene where this chick is walking through the woods and all you hear is crickets. but then this crazy rumble starts up. so all you hear is crickets and all you feel is ur organs begging for mercy. when i first played that movie i thought i blew my subs. alot of drivers make all kinds of funny noises below ~25hz

Your JBL is not a bad amp, should be able to get a few bucks for it.
