Inverted sub box height....does it matter how tall?

I'm looking at inverting a sub to make my box lower and not deal with sub displacement. Does it matter how tall the enclosure is as long as the sub sees the correct amount of cubic space? My example would be lets say I have a sub that needs 2 cubic feet. If I built a box that was 2" tall but 40" wide x 40" long and the box came to 2 cubic feet, does the sub care if it's inverted? Is there a minimum amount of height that a sub needs even though it is inverted?

You have to take into consideration the sub's excursion... personally I would try and do at least like 3" of height but it depends on your setup

You'll probably run into some efficiency issues I'd images as well...

I know i dont have to worry about the space usually given to provide woofer cooling since it is inverted. Other than woofer excursion, is there anything that would say this wouldnt work?
