its one hell of a mission, what would that accomplish... i think im going to have to dish out the $70 for the machanic to look at it since he has one of thos fance machines that tell u everything.

put the other alt in, if it works fine..you figured out the problem...if it persists, your wiring is bad. or you broke something installing it..this isnt nuerophysiology

bust out the DMM, like inhuman said, my 770mp reads ~.5 low. Itll read ~13.7 when the voltage is 14.2. Also, you may be getting some voltage drop between the wiring going to your head unit. If your car was "charging" at 11.3 volts, i doubt it would even start up the next morning.
