R.I.P. Gossamer!!
$70 for someone to 'check' it for you seems terribly unrealistic when Auto Zone, Pep Boys, Advance Auto, etc will do it for free...
Why am i mad? I was told 2 weeks to get my alt, it took 1 month and something to get here and then it was close to $300, i didnt get any papers with my alt, just the plain alt. In one email Nathan told me that he had to send out the alt to some 1 else to wound my stator bcuz he was too busy with the GB, it isnt his fault anything can go wrong, im just pist at myself. Not him. Could be an installtion prlb,em, could be that the alt is phuckedsounded like my problem, i did everything right, instaled it right didnt work, put stock back in and it works, sent back to nathan, blah blah, got it back no workie again:furious: sent it back again and next one he put a different regulator on, so why should you be mad? i had to waste 15-20$ each time i shipped it back to him, took 3 times to get a working one and now it charges @14.6vone good thing about me is its gets to him overnight //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
just try to figure it out, try auto zone maybe? only other is put stock back on, which only take like 10-15mins on mine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
Nope - they have a machine on wheels that they roll right out the door, sit it in front of your car, and tell you to open the hood.Dont they check them for free if its OFF the car, not IN the car?
Yes i can get my vehicle to start. I might just do that, and what sucks is that monday its labor day so nathan wont open either.Nope - they have a machine on wheels that they roll right out the door, sit it in front of your car, and tell you to open the hood.
At least, the ones here do, anyway. They also have the in-store machine that tests altenators/starters/whatnot that have been removed from vehicles - but all of the ones here have a portable machine that can load test an alternator while it's still on the motor (provided you can get the vehicle to start - test doesn't work otherwise)
Yes, i just added not replaced. And yes i left all stock wiring. But the little plug with the 2 little legs when we were taking it out of the old alternator, well, were the plug goes into the stock alt the lil housing from the alt broke and the lock broke off the housing for the 2 lil legs. And i noticed that the alt had 2 lil legs but one was kinda bent.It looks like you said you did, BUT...did you leave ALL stock wiring there when you did the Big-3? Like...you just ADDED the upgraded wiring...not replaced the stock correct?

One the backside of the Alternator? The two tiny threaded "legs"??? If so, those are what tell the alternator to CHARGE...voltage is induced into them by the stock computer...and it tells the Alternator to charge.Yes, i just added not replaced.
