Install my Exessive Amperage Alt AND..

Well, it's a dodge. I have one.

Did you under ANY circumstances, accidentally arc anything...ground a wire out...or try to induce voltage to the rear of the alternator. If so, you prolly fried the stock computer. Happened to my Dakota when the stupid *** mechanic installed my new transmission. Arc'd the battery, and fried the stock computer. I was getting decreasing voltage each day, alt was chraging at like 11v. Went to the junk yard, picked up a new computer...alt now charges at 14.2v //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Arc'd wire.. whats do you mean by that?

i just put a DMM to the + cable of the alt and it isnt charging..... i put the + of the DMM to the + wire and then the - from the DMM to the car's chasis for ground and it read 0.00, thats great now i dont have a car for 3 days!!! and monday is labor day AHAHAHAHAH I ****!!!!!!

you didnt hook it up right then. it shoulda read SOME voltage, or your car wouldnt even be running lol.

Well my car is running off the battery i guess but the alternator isnt charging the battery thats why the batt light comes up on the dash. Atleast thats how i see it.

if you put the + into the alt + wire, and grounded it to the chassis, its going to at LEAST give you the current battery voltage. If it read 0.00, you did not have the meter set correctly or you used the wrong wire/touched something that wasnt grounded.

You can't just touch it to that painted chassis either...and say it's grounded. You need to touch into the Alt. + wire...and touch the ground to the engine block. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

or batt - ?

for some reason i think you did the big 3 wrong. Either way u should have gotten the alt tested before u installed it.
thats what i think too but how can you do the big 3 wrong.... theirs no way u can do it wrong... i unhooked the + from alt and to the batt and i just left the stock wiring then i reved the angine and stayed at 12.2... im going to put the stock alt back and if it doesnt charge its the cars cpu and if it does its the alt.

sounded like my problem, i did everything right, instaled it right didnt work, put stock back in and it works, sent back to nathan, blah blah, got it back no workie again:furious: sent it back again and next one he put a different regulator on, so why should you be mad? i had to waste 15-20$ each time i shipped it back to him, took 3 times to get a working one and now it charges @14.6v:) one good thing about me is its gets to him overnight //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

just try to figure it out, try auto zone maybe? only other is put stock back on, which only take like 10-15mins on mine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
