I'm thinking of going JL Audio need some opinions.

I am thinking of going with JL Audio for an amp and subs but I've never used them before I've heard Rockford and Audiobahn both sounded nice. I have heard that JL has some very nice sounding subs so I was going to give them a shot. I want to go with 2x 12w3v3 4 ohm SVC for a combined 1000 watt RMS @ 2 ohm load and I was thinking of using a JL Audio G1700 Amp which is 700 watts RMS @ 2 ohms. My main question is will this amp be powerful enough I was going with lower then 1000 watts because of JL's power range for the subs on their site it says that around 350w would be optimum for each sub so I figured a 700 watt rms amp would be perfect but I'm not sure how JL amps are since I have never had one before. Theres also a Boston Acoustic GTA-800m amp that looks nice and is nicely priced but again I've never had them for amps either.

I just read your post, not the others so I might be repeating myself.. JL is nice, but pricey... Everything is install dependent and sounds different.. That said my First JL setup before I went to Internet Direct companies ( DD, RE audio, DC audio ) was a pair of w3s, then a single 12 w7 ( which btw walked on the w3 in every aspect ) Both setups off a 1000/1.. I love DC, and If I buy more subs or upgrade I will buy them again.. You cannot beat the price and customer service.. ( Props to Rusty //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ) BUT the w7 overall, no price included is my favorite sub, ( and I did own the W7s competition from back then, the RE XXX )

At this day and age, Nothing you spend $200 on is going to be crap, but they all will sound different and It will depend on what you want to use them for ..

Im gonna probably say what others have said , but.... You can get just as good, and be just as happy for much less... THe Sundown SA line is an amazing sub in every aspect, as are their amps, as well as DC audio .. Those get my vote

Ok I am going to order the AudioQue 1200D the fuses in the amp combine for a 240 amp fuse so is that what I should get for a power wire fuse / circuit breaker? I'm also thinking I should probably get a 2 guage power kit just incase I want to add a 4 channel amp later.

I recommend looking into 12 inch SSA DCON if your looking for a sound quality install. They sound nice sealed or ported and retail is 125 plus ship a piece.

I had 2 SDCs off of a single 1200D. The subs sounded okay.. I was tuned to 36hz though... They did get loud!! The amp is great too, very powerful, easy on the current. Solid pick of equipment.

Yeah I'm wondering if I will need to go 0 gauge if i ever get a 4 channel amp to go with the 1200d tho. I think what I am going to do for now is order the amp and power kit and then order the subs when I get paid again in 2 weeks. AudioQue's site says the amp will be available third week of april so there might be some delay I'm not sure but this is the best amp for the price that I have seen so far and all the reviews are amazing. I'm currently deciding between DC SoundLab, SunDown and AudioQue subs.

The dcons can be put in a box tuned to 30-32 hz and still perform moderately well in the higher frequencies. AQ's you will have to tune to upper 30s(37-40ish)or sacrafice overall output. It depends on what you want out of your system. The Dcons work work on an AQ1200, but you would probably want the gain down a bit, or at least watch to see when they are reaching their mechanical limits.

I just pulled the trigger on the AudioQue 1200D Amp $267.60 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Yeah I probably wont go with the audioque subs since they need such large enclosures and apparently need to be tuned high.

I can't find any circuit breakers on ebay over 200 amps I'm not sure what this amp requires yet it doesn't say on the specs. I'm definitely not looking forward to running 2 or 0 guage wire again lol.

everyones opinion of loud is different.. Ive seen it in numerous threads on here... and Ive been here a while ...

hey OP.. **** u

when some one respondesto you .. quote them.. ****** assho;e]
Wtf are you talking about? What did you want me to quote I wasn't responding to you? I quoted everyone I responded to as much as I could.

Didn't see your post about the cliffs comment til now at first I was looking at JL but there were a bunch of recommendations that I researched that looked better for the money like the amp I ordered. I still haven't ordered subs still trying to decide on them but I think they will have to wait til I get some more money. I started at the JL 12w3v3 which are 500 watts a piece so I started at 2x 12" 500 watt subs now I'm looking for around 600 watts since I will have a 1200 watt amp.

Was just checking out the t3 audio subs the T.600-12d looks nice.
