Going bigger than 8" is out of the question.
Comparing speaker to speaker, is there anything that exceeds the 8w7 as far as clean loud bass? I have seen many that put down the w7 and say go with 2 1508's, etc. However, comparing sub to sub, the w7 will still get louder and sound cleaner than most... correct?

My enclosure will be an asymmetric shape, but resembling a rectangular cube. The only place for a port would be on the same "face" as the sub will be mounted to...

I had an 8w7 in a box just like that. it rocked, great sub. go ported with it though, not worth it if you're going to go sealed.

Looks like the 8w7 did as well as expected. Someone needs to do another comparison with the new speakers that have come out since.
