Identify this TC sub?

Im not too familiar with TC sounds, but found this on the local craigs for what seems to be a good price. It does have that dent in the cone tho.

I was guessing that its a TC1000? If so, whats a fair price for this considering the dent? box is included...thanksView attachment 26520149View attachment 26520149

Probably a 1000 or perhaps an old style 2000 (they made a few without the tall surrounds).

A severe dent in aluminum cone has the potential to rip open (if you catch it early it can be fixed with JB Weld).

I'd offer 80$ or 100$ with the box if you need the box. Considering new TC1K sold new as low as 180ish, about half price for one used with a f*cked up cone is about what I'd think. Really you can probably get 50$ for the motor and 20$ for the basket so you could go a little higher.

the asking price was already a bit lower than this...thanks for the info...what can these handle power wise? and can they be rebulit into something better?

IIRC TC1K was "rated" at 600 or 800W probably conservatively.

Specs would change wildly if you rebuilt it since you probably won't find an aluminum cone and TC uses rather soft spiders which may be hard to find. Then again, if it's a 1K it's a standard 12 spoke basket and a motor that'll accept most 4 layer 3" coils so it's a platform you could build off of. Really I think you'd have pretty good results as a good sounding ground pounder running it as-is and just watching that dent for signs of tearing.

OK, thanks for the info...ill probley scoop it up, try it out and if i dont like it, give it to a friend or sell for cheap

Sounds like at the price you could smoke it, sell the motor/basket on here and only be out of pocket a few bucks.
