IB style. Should only require about half the power?

I just gave my new IB a test run, and it sounds awesome. Im sending it only a lil less power than I was with the sub in a sealed box. I thought I was going to have to turn the gain down a lot more.

I don't think I'm hitting Xmax, or bottoming out. The sub isn't making any abnormal sounds, is there a way I can check if its being pushed too hard? Just by listening i guess? Ive just never heard a IB setup before so Im kinda un sure.

Play the lowest note you run into on normal music. 20 or 25hz is usually fine. -3 tone, turn the gains up until the sub begins to have suspension noise and your gains should be fine at that point. On tones you'll hear it pretty easy.

Suspension noise Ill hear from the back of the sub when I get close? How would you explain it sounds like?

You'll hear it. Front or back of the cone, won't matter. A 20hz tone doesn't sound like much of anything. As soon as you begin to hear a noise like the sub is hitting something when it moves, turn it down a hair and that will be fine. The w7's have about the quietest suspension I've ever seen so it will be very evident. Then just play some of your heavier music and double check your still not having any problems.
