I need head unit wiring help!!!!

I bought a alpine head uni over the weekend and I've almost completely installed it myself, except for this big *** problem! This aint the first time I've done a self install, but in the manual it said to run the red ignition wire to the fuse box and connect to an open terminal for the ignition. Would this be like a "hot spot"? On my particular fuse box, I have 3 ignition terminals and I've tried all 3. I even tried the 2 terminals that say Battery. The **** thing resets everytime I turn my car off and I know it has something to do with this. When I wired to the Igniton terminals and turn my key to the "acc" position, I get no power, no nothing. It does come on when I wire to the Battery terminal and put it in the "acc" position though. I'm just not understanding whats going on.....I even called alpine. PLEASE SOMEBODY......HELP!!!!!!!!

If you clarified the problem in a more concise manner, then you have the possibility of getting a plausible resolution. Which, we then could gather adequate evidence, allow us develop a reasonable hypothesis, and demonstrate a well-detailed procedure to remedy the situation

did i not add enough details to my problem???? i stated that in the alpine manual it tells me to run the red ignition wire to the ignition terminal in my fuse box, which i did and i still cant turn it on in the "acc" position and it resets everytime i tiurn my car off. i also hve a yellow wire that tells me run that to the battery, which i connected to the battery wire of my car radio harness.....its a 86 chevy caprice by the way.....thx for the bump

Yeah, it sounds like you don't have your constant (yellow) wire hooked up to a source that has continuous power.
