I would think that...except it is the sub by the port opening that is having the issue.
Won't know the real cause until you get it cut up more then likely.

no issues with the sub close to the port , had to do some running last nite jammed out for awhile with no issues this is getting weird

600rms ???? where r u getting these numbers??? its a zv3 not a sa ...itsa 1500 rms sub..and my buddy ran 1 on a saz3500 full power for quite some time

im not referring to op's equipment, im trying to prove a point to faeez that underpowering a sub wont damage it, just putting 600 as an example

That is what I mean, the driver closer to the opening (inside the enclosure) is having the issues. I would pull the sub out of the box and see if you find anything going on. Better to be safe then sorry. If you still feel "rubbing" on the coil then likely will need a recone soon. The cause can be several different things though. Anything from clipping to unloading in the enclosure....it is a very long list.

And if I pull the sub what exactly should I look for ??

And is there a way to check the clipping rather be amp or hu besides having a oscope?

It's just confusing that he claims the subs get relatively low playing time and according to what he said his amp is set at, he shouldn't be clipping - I guess it depends what his electrical system looks like, though. OP, have you taken the proper precautions with your vehicle to run a system that large?

yepper 270 amp alt 1 die hard agm under hood 2 xs 3400's in back all 0awg including big 3 , i havent had a problem since this day so i dont know what happened

Oscope is of course the best way really. If you are having issues with just one driver though, it seems the loading/unloading could likely be an issue as well.

Pull the sub and check the suspension for any issues. Ripped spider, broken glue joints, or anything out of the ordinary.

Also, how do you have your subs wires? Are they going from one to sub to the next or do you have separate wires for each driver going to the amp?

Ok I have them wire + to + then - to - on each sub for the dual voice coils ....then one side + then other side - to amp so basically 1 sub has 3 wires - and 3 wire +

1 wire for the dual coils 1 wire from other sub ..then 1 wire to the amp ..make since I hope..lol and haven't had any problems except the one day..just weird haven't pulled the sub yet ..

Yea, lol I got that haha.

If you only had the issue briefly and it went away 100% not scratching or anything, it could have been something as simply as a wire or wire nut touch the driver causing a noise to occur. While not likely, I have seen it happen a few times.
