is it worth not taking the oppurtunity to see for yourself instead of staying closed minded...

if im wrong and there is no God, then no big deal...if you are wrong and there is a god..then what?

hmm so what if i have faith in the theory of evolution? i too was a christian throughout my childhood and now i'm just indifferent. if i'm close-minded, wth are u being? i dont discredit christianity by any means, it's just not my cup of tea. i respect other's beliefs, as is all i ask of others.

Well, I am glad you at least have been brought up with GOD. However, you probably aren't aware that the majority of Catholicsm isn't the truth. And, when I mean the truth, I mean when compared to the Bible.

BTW, yes I was raised up in a Catholic school from K - 8th Grade and went to church several days out of the week (because I had to). Anyway, the problem with Catholicsm and other Christian denominations is that "they" at one time or another decide to make their own doctrine that isn't true to the Bible.

There are many points of the Roman Catholic doctrine that contradicts what the Bible says should be done.

Anyway......

Seeing as how the holiday season is here and the new year is just around the corner, should some of you decide to get SAVED finally?

I mean would it hurt so bad to give Jesus a try? It took me awhile to realize this but we do so much that harms us at least once because we don't learn until we are hurt doing it. Think about it....

it hurts to do drugs, yet we still do.

it hurts to drink alcohol, yet we still do.

even as kids when we are told not to touch something because it's hot we still do and then get burnt.

So, why is it so hard to go to church at least one time? I mean going one more time not if you have already went. I mean go one more time and try to understand and listen. Granted there are some churches that don't teach well however some are great.

Just give Jesus a chance.

Honestly, what do you have to lose?

If you think the bible you are reading is the "truth", you are sadly mistaken. As I've said before; you are reading an interpretation of an interpretation of an interpretation of an interpretation of an interpretation of a translation that occured many moons ago. And many of the original contexts of words or phrases aren't the same contexts people give them today or that they have given them throughout all the interpretations. Plus, as mentioned, you are reading the words of man who interpreted (there is that word again) what they heard/saw, and it is preached to you by someone interpreting (uh oh, again with that word) what that text is saying. You in turn interpret (damn, again?) what you are hearing and reading.

You don't find truth by reading a novel....you find truth by what you believe in your heart. Hence, Catholicism is just as "true" as whatever you want to compare it to.

Right now I'm totally confused with religion, karma, my life, etc.

I've basically just tried to not be a terrible person untill I figure everything out, or figure out I won't figure everything out, so there are no regrets.

If I live by the Bible untill I accept/reject it, what have I lost?

Plus it's fairly easy to not kill people, so theres 1/10.

Im pretty qualified here, in case any of you ask. Ive gone to a Baptist school from Pre-K to 6th, and ive read the KJV of the Bible from cover to cover.

Thats not being very faithful there, chad. Arent you supposed to be blindly devoted to your god, and not even haev a doubt to wether he exists or not...?
