How Many of You Are SAVED?

Swim I agree 100%. Also, what does saved mean? Were you an a death bed and Jesus came and said barn your better? If not then wtf? Is it not possible to "accept Jesus into your life" if you aren't saved? A church is just a building on a piece of land. It is no more holy than a parking lot in my opinion. Granted it is much quieter and you usually have some kind of guide there, but i don't see any more reason why a place of worship can't be a stretch of beach.

Okay. Where do I begin? Well, first off yes Catholicism is a form of Christianity. However, there are many things Catholics do that aren't good unto GOD. For instance, Catholics worship the bread and wine during communion. Catholics are worshiping these as if they are JESUS himself. People, this is idol worship. When people worship idols, they worship demons and Satan himself! This is witchcraft! Let me show you this....
Dude are you doggin on my religion. B/c i happen to be an active catholic. We do not worship the bread and wine as being Jesus. It symbolizes him. We believe that he is transfigured in these things. We are not worhsiping these things as if they are him and him only. We believe that the bread becomes his body and his blood comes out of the wine. Everyone has their own beliefs. If you can't respect that leave us alone. Don't say we are worshiping idols. He comes to us through the bread and wine.

First, I would like to know exactly what church it is that james goes to. It sounds an awful lot like someone has recently been endoctrinated and they are looking for a chance to spew some of what they have just been brainwashed with. It was a decent topic when you started and then deterated with a few choice statements. I don't belive that Catholicism is on the right road either but that is a choice catholics make and basically what you are saying is that whatever sect or cult of christianity you are currently in the power of is the only true and correct way. True christianity is about accepting Jesus and the fact that he died for your sins and the sins of the world. Period.

Personally, I feel that God has basically pulled out of this world and left it up to us. The decisions we make are made on our own. Maybe God does speak to you, I doubt it, but maybe he does. If there is a God, there is only one God and everyone is basically worshipping that God in the manner they see fit. People comes from different parts of the world with different social, economic, environemental backgrounds so why would everyone perceive God and the path to heaven, hell or enlightenment the same. Even within each denomination of christianity you have at least 2 or 3 different systems of belief and types of worship. I don't know but I hope that there will be something after this life. If there is not it is going to be disappointing. Besides, it doesn't provide much incentive to support and help your fellow human beings if there is not. There would be no real reason to do what is right. I feel there will be rewards or consequences for what we have done or not done in our lives. Do I believe that I am going to find the answer by going and sitting in church and listening to another person tell what the answers are? No.

I think it is great that you have found your way and are happy with your commitment to Jesus, your decisions and your beliefs. But, it's your latter statements that tend to push people away from christianity rather than bring them closer. IMHO.

This topic has gone way to far. I am going to close this. My final words are that I have witnessed miracles that I know GOD can only do. I have seen other religions fail to commit to miracles that say their god can do.

All I wanted was for people to realize that time is short.

I would still like you to explain yourself a little bit more here. You've bashed everybody's religion except your own, without even telling us which religion it is that you actually practice; this does not seem right at all. I have seen many arguments on here that are very compelling towards religion as a whole and I think you need to open your eyes. If you cannot do this, then please explain to us a few things about your religion before you rag on every one elses.

P.S. Although not practicing at the time because of my belief in logic and darwinian theory, I am a confirmed member of the catholic church, with 8 years of religious training....please defend your completely harsh and incorrect statements of my church.

I didn't explain what religion I was? Um, I am a Christian. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

As far as denomination, I don't care for that.

But, if you must know I do attend a Pentacostal Church. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Some people take things too seriously. I myself have gone to many different churches, I guess you could say I've tried them all out.

Catholic - I actually fell asleep.

Jewish temple - got kicked out because I didn't know the songs.

Mormon - I left 15min. after service started.(I had better things to do)

Christian - Those were some of the hottest chicks I've ever seen.

I'm agnostic. I'm in a loving relationship, which, as long as it continues (no reason to think it won't), we will get married soon after college. I plan on marrying, and NOT divorcing. I DO NOT just think of marrage as a "piece of paper".
It's not hard to NOT be religious and still think that marrage should be taken seriously.

i agree w/ you....but im saying on the most part....most people in america view marriage as a piece of paper......i think it is a much more serious matter ......and in my eyes marriage is the joining of 2 people......

How the hell did you get into a mormon service. They won't even let you into the building if you're not mormon......
