I believe you are making a generalization above. Not all churches are out to make money. Some are strictly trying to bring in money to pay for the utility bills along with the teacher. What is true for some isn't true for all.First of all I would like to say that catholics are christians, plain and simple! Not the same belief structure exactly, but based off of the same big points.

Although there MAY be a god, this is in fact the reason why church was made. When I say church I mean religion, and if you've ever taken a european history course, you would know this to be true. Religion was created to do two things: control the people (as a form of government), and to create revenue. Kinda ironic that they teach us not to screw people, and to treat everybody right when their foundations was quite the opposite.
I will say that any so called catholic that believes that Jesus is their savior and any so called christian that believes this will go to heaven. In fact any individual that believes this deep in their heart will go to heaven.
