hm..my sub is ROCK hard..

me n a friend installed my new subs today. while i was inside, my friend tapped both of my subs. one sounded fine, and one sounded like u were hitting wood. when you push down on the sub, it doesnt push down AT ALL. u have to push it down real hard, and then it starts hitting, but it hits like crap..im guessing its blown..but why is it rock hard?
