Hit brakes and sub gets 2x louder

Also, has anyone had much experience installing sound dampening material? I purchased 50 sq ft of Audio Technix 80mill and plan on installing it on Wednesday when it reaches 66 degrees (FINALLY!). One question I asked the maker whom couldn't answer my question, is; should I use as few pieces as possible on the trunk-lid or several pieces? I saw a video of some fat mat that had completely fell off someones ceiling (mega fail!) and was wondering if using 5 pieces compared to 20 pieces would make a difference? I live in kansas so the temperature reaches 110 degrees not to mention the temp inside a vehicle. If anyone has any input it would be greatly appreciated. I will be using a wooden roller (will attempt to make one tomorrow instead of spending $15) and no heating device. I appreciate any response, thanks again!
