Help with a setup

Im in Lancaster County, PA. Im sure i could do it myself. i build computers and am very good with electronics, but thats just so much money and ive never really worked with car electronics. is there any really good guides/tutorials out that can explain it very well?
Yeah you will be fine

I am from Chester county so we are pretty close. Maybe I can build you a box, im going to see how my current one goes and if im happy with it ill be comfortable making one for someone else.

But yea go for it! its fun doing it yourself, plenty of guides and if you run into trouble we can help you out

What kind of subs you looking for? Sound quality or loud as possible?

And would you rather say

1 15 inch

1 12

2 12's

2 10s

What kind of car do you drive?

currently looking at a 15" Fi Q. still looking for suggestions on anything else, including an amp

Looking for something that will be good with metal/rock taht has a lot of faster bass beats. so probly sound quality.

The fi q would be an awesome choice

I actually ordered an fi ssd off their site about 5 mins ago. I cant wait to get it.

Hmm id probably try to stay around 700-800 watts so you dont have to get into upgrading your alt and stuff

What kind of car do you drive? Any idea on the alternator size?

And are you looking at a used or new fi q?

no idea on alternator size :-\. currently talking to a guy about a 15" fi q, but it has some minor screwdriver pokes in it, although he said it doesnt affect performance

Is it dual 2 or dual 1?

Darkhunter is a good guy.he won't steer you wrong. If you can just because you just found it theirs alot of q's on here for sale you should be able to find a almost mint 15 without much of a problem //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif and i Would recommend getting you new Head unit first will make your life a hell of a lot easier,If your doing it yourself So you won't have to mess with that extra rca connector

Ahh I was thinking about getting one of his subs as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Probably would be fine if you patched up the hole

I just wanted a new ssd instead.

How much shipped is he going to charge you? See if you can get him down a bit because of the hole. How much would you have left over after buying that? Unless you could get him to knock a decent bit off that sub though I dont think id get it.

Yeah you can you will get a dash kit for free from most online sites you order from.

check out crutchfield.com and sonicelectronix.com

With your budget id try and stay around 100-150

i was told a sundown 1500 amp would be good with the Fi Q amp, discuss?

i also really like the alpine 9887 head unit, so i might have to splurge a little extra for that. im thinking sundown amp around 300 used, 175 for the fi q, 200 for a head unit. anything i NEED in a head unit?

Pre amp outputs (all the new ones have them)

Other then that try and get a good brand

Alpine, kenwood, pioneer are a few

And that might be a little much power to be running on stock electric?(Not positive anyone else care to comment on this) Great amp though.
