Help On Box For 15" RE MT

what kind of car?
i got my boy with an mt 18 on 1500w 146.5db @ 46 hz so......
Car is a 2003 Mazda 6 S (trunk, not hatch)

Someone here said they had the same car and got loudest with subs up and external aero's back (CRX Box), but I have yet to try that. May consider though if I can fit my friend's box for his 18" BTL in my car as his box is sub up port back and that'd be a good way to see if it's much louder.

Hows that look? 4.6 cubes tuned to 34 with 72 sq inches of port?
that box looks good. you must listen to a lot of the new rap crap if wanting it to drop that low //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

If trying to bring out the lows go bigger on volume and lower on tuning, but 35hz is about as low as I'd go for an MT. I did an 18 at 35Hz and it was INSANE on the lows...
I know with my 18" 24hz-30hz its just insane. in my 6.5 cube box tuned to 30hz

i got a 18" MT in a 2002 mazda protege in 5.7 cubes tuned at 31hz, sub up port to passenger side. it slams the lows and sounds pretty f'n good. straight built for a musical daily box, could careless about numbers

Haha I listen to a wide variety of music. Rock / Trance / Dance / Techno / DnB / Rap / etc. I figure a lower tuning will be more musical over the wide spectrum of things I listen to. But mostly I listen to rap, and yeah I play some of the new crap just to be known as the kid who gets it first around here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

But yeah, I think I may try that box. First I'm gonna swap in for my friend's 18 BTL and see if it's a huge difference to see whether I should tune lower or what. He's tuned at 33 I think.

I hope I get to build this up and coming box. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I was considering porting to the side as I see a lot of people have been doing this lately, but I'm not sure.

Let me know what you decide to go with. I too am almost ready to start building my box for my 15" MT. I want it to hit the lows and sound good for daily. Not sure how much room i have in the trunk of my 2002 accord. So who knows let me know what your liking with your box.

Yeah man no problem, will be sure to let you know.

And mp3pimp, I would be doubtful tuning the MT that low //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif IMO the only time to go below 30 is for home theater. Some people disagree, but thats my opinion :p.

i tried it once tuned @ 25 hz in a 2.9 cube box for the 15 inch uberwoofer.
was really nice on the lows, but 45 and up sucked a lot.
lol i remember that box, with my sub.. in transition from neon wall v1 to neon wall v2 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
