Box For a 12" IDMax?

hey whats up?

i just bought an IDMax 12" V. 3 D2 not too long ago, but i dont have it installed yet.

i have been breaking my head from trying to choose the right box.

I listen to rap 90% of the time, but not your avarage boom boom stuff...(songs like Gorillaz - Clint Eastwood)

i asked around and few people told me to go with a sealed box (1.5ft3 gross)

but few told me to go with a ported(altough no details about size/tuning)

what do you think will be the best for me and my sub lol...

btw.

I have a Cadence ZRS7000D for it, and it will be installed in a 99 Mercedes CLK430

Yea, Id say go ported...2.1-2.2 cubes or so...tuned to 32-33Hz, with around 32 sq inches of port should be a pretty good guess on it sounding good and hitting those lows

and I wouldnt have a shop make your enclosures, even if they have good build quality...you can find someone on here like ls2poweredgoat or myself (and a ton of others) who would gladly make you one for cheaper and of good quality..made to specs

i mean, im getting really low rate on the box (family related with the owner of the store), i wouldn't mind having a box made from one of you guys for spare/testing/messing around with.

its just that for now, i need a main design for a box they gonna make me...

wouldnt a lower tuning then 30-32 be better? i am trying to archive the best SQL i can from it, probably more to the SQ side...
