Okay, I will think about this one. I'm really looking for a lower tuning then 35 so this may work. I can probably go up to ~6 cubes, and am considering reconing the MT to an 18" if it blows and going with a nice big 18 and a big box tuned low.4.5 @32hz with 70sq inches of port
I never did understand the whole polyfill thing, anybody care to explain? I'm searching around now but idk.go buy 3 or 4 bags off polyfil and put in your box now that will give you an idea of how it will sound in a larger lower tuned box
Yeah I realize these aren't really SQ drivers meant to slam 20hz, but right now I'm not really feeling 28-32 hz much. I think it may be my box is small. After displacements and such I think it's at like 3.7 cubes. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gifIf trying to bring out the lows go bigger on volume and lower on tuning, but 35hz is about as low as I'd go for an MT. I did an 18 at 35Hz and it was INSANE on the lows...
what kind of car?Yep, as a lot of you may know, I have a 15" MT being run off my GP3k in my trunk. Right now my box is about 4 cubes tuned at 35, and I think it could get much louder.
So, my question is, what do you guys think I should try my next box at? I've heard from another guy with a Mazda 6 that a crx box (sub up, external aero ports firing back towards the trunk) gets the loudest in this car, and am considering doing that.
But, as for your input, what air space and tuning do you guys think I should go for? This is a daily driver, so I'm thinking of tuning between 30-34, but I'm not sure if 4 cubes is ideal for this sub for daily or what.
Thanks in advance all //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
