And for a N/A 4 valve, there is one that will run 10.03/ 133.88 MPH. Now because GM is still pushrods, and bigger CID they do take better to bolt ons, give you that. BUT stock vs stock, money vs money, ford still has em beat. My mach ran a 12.9 in 1/4 staock, my buddies ran 12.8 we both hit 7.8 in 1/8 mile AND got 27 MPG . My show car is a ***** am, there is noway in absolute hell that the LS motors will get that kind of MPG. ford made a smaller economy engine and made it fast.
And for the GT500 coming out, aluminum heads, same cast block as the lightning and running a Eaton R122 and air to liquid intercooler. 8.4:1 compression engine. They are de-tuned from factory because of economy standards. smaller pulley, exhaust, and tune, gonna be hard to beat. I work on these engines day in and out. The pushrods are a good motor if you want straight strip, but IMO, modular is way to go for street strip. That way you can pass couple more gas stations hehe. I actually just got through building a 01 cobra up. We put the 03 in there with a pro charger F1 pushing over 20 PSI , and on pump gas got 843 to the wheels. Me on the other hand, i wont tell you what boost im running but i will tell you its over 1000 rwhp. If you wanna play let me know. Im also building another mach as we speak he wants to stay on pump gas but if anyone pisses us off he will go over 1000 as well in a MODULAR engine as well. Also here is couple pics of a few cars we have worked on and my mustang and show car together.
