It would seem that you are missing the relationship between retailer and supplier. It looks like the real probelm is that Rob was offended when someone was talking about his product. Facts are facts, Rob's product is a factory case, rewound stock unit. While these can be great for many applications they just will not produce the low-RPM power of a larger case unit that can easily be adapted to fit the factory application. Rob got an attitude when the discussion of the products came up on here. Matt has no issue with his product, it has it's place in the market and he seems to build a good product. Rob would be the one who came on here with the attitude. I don't understand why he has such an attitude, he's has his business and a good reputation in the scene.
As for the company ownership, well that's for the people there to discuss, but business is business. Build the best product for the right price and you will sell product. Mechman is doing that and from the feedback Rob is doing that as well.
That said, I would love to see some dyno racing from all of the alternator MFG's. Someone picks an application and the MFG's bring the best unit for the application. Then we can see the real numbers and lay this to rest.
