Got my alternator today.(Need help fast.)

Dude that's a joke... Most people I talked to like EA and DB High output, both said they will sell me one to test but not ship me one without paying, to test and send it back in. I've came to the conclusion that most MFG's are cheap, greedy bastards, I won't even bother calling Mechman as he just pretty much said buy one to test it. Then if you don't like it oh well
Man that is my point I don't mind to spen 350 max for an alt but man for mfgs. to ask an idividual to pay and then do the test and when done you are stuck with it and out money screw that all the talk they need to prove alt to alt who's is better in a vehicle pick one I don't care what vehicle..Nothing against mechman but prove to me that your alt next to dc power since that seems to be the one you bashed openly is worth the extra $170...

Please don't say things when you have no idea what you are talking about.
We have a 5,000 square foot wharehouse, 1,000 square foot fabrication shop (tig, mig, benders, plasma table) a 2,000 square foot machine shop (two CNC 3 axis machines, CNC lathe, and two vertical mills) and a 500 square foot test labritory with over $200K worth of alternator dyno equipment. To say that we are not a "custom shop" simply because we didn't make a dual alternator bracket kit for your truck, is a very ignorant statement.

DC power will sell you a stock housing stator-swapped Denso unit, just like every other alternator company will. It will do OK at higher RPMS, but will have lousy output at idle, and probably NEVER make 250 amps at any RPM. Not to mention, that it will have much less cooling and half the rectifier.

I'm not saying anything bad about DC power, all I'm saying is that we take a very different approach. You can't make an 8" sub moove as much air as a 15" sub, and the same holds true for an alternator. If you want the ultimate in alternator beefyness, sometimes it takes a little "squeezing" to get it in there.

this is true... i have witnessed it all and its VERY impressive //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif and Mechmans customer service is second to none, i had a problem go wrong in my alt, wanted to add a external regulator to another one of his alts, and wanted to bench test a iraggi alt i had for my lawsuit against iraggi so i called him up and told him i would be coming through the next day he said fine stop on by, stopped what he was doing then and there and took care of me and u say his customer service sucks??? hmmm okay, also he isnt a custom shop? i beg to diff, we will be working together in making a custom alt bracket to add a 2nd alt onto a mercury cougar, if you know anything about those cars then yeah its gonna take alot of custom work

so yeah thats just to begin with mechman so if you dont know what your talking about and simply just trying to steal a sale from a company to help out another company that your prolly sponsorsed by please keep your mouth shut

have a good day

Im right there with you dude!

I already have an Iraggi alt thats supposed to be the best built alt he could build for my application. I talked to Dominic a long long time ago when I was in the market for new alts so I told him to hook me up.. In the end I paid $430 for a piece of scrap metal. I have a Powermaster, DC Power, and DB Electrics alt as well.. I wanted to get at least every alt for my application built as big as they possibly could build it and put it through an actual real world stress test taking heat, amperage pull, and everyday driving into consideration and doing a real " Best alternator Test". But most people I've talked to thus far have pretty much laughed and told me not going to happen... I had told them I would try and get something published in Sport Truck magazine, Truckin, Performance Auto and Sound, and Deep Hitters..

I told them if it would matter any if I did so much as gave them my credit card info if they are that worried about getting screwed.

Still no luck:rolleyes:

Doesn't this go for you as well?

Your probably sponsored by Mechman, and you can actually go to them personaly.

Weird how he will build "Custom" dual brackets for your application but I was told they wont do anything other than Chevy dual bracket applications.

was that pic the shop then?

yes i am sponsored, did i say anything bad about DC? am i trying to steal any business from DC? no sir i am not...
not saying you were man, and neither was I... It's kinda hard and effortless when you run one companies alternators to have a biased opinion on stuff ya know? BTW I'am not sponsored by any company. Im sure I'll be paying over $1500 for my alts.

was that pic the shop then?
No that is not the Mechman shop.

yes that is where mechman is BTW... and yes people sponsored by companys tend to have biased comments etc.... i can say truthfully i am different if a company out performs the product for which i am using u can bet ill be switcing the that company...

so DC power there it is, i will do a head up test on your alt to mechmans alt,

over 300 foot of 1/0 wire...plenty of powermaster D3100 batteries...40k of power if needed...and subs to handle it all... of course after the test i will send you your alternator back and i will handle it with the upmost care installing it as i dont like scratches on stuff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thats where they are but in its whole entirety that shop is not Mechmans.

Same goes for Mechman!...

I have close to 20k to use if needed, 60' of 2/0 and I will put your alt through a test. Every second of every minute of the test would be video recorded. It will be a truthful comparison and hell if your alt wins in the end I would even pay full retail price on it to keep it.

I just want to be able to see some real world test to show what they say I will more than likely go with a dc power alt myself but still would like to see real world video of alt to alt testing not just statements rob seems willing how about matt I believe that's mechmans name if I am wrong sorry...

already have Matts alt... only needing Robs Alt... i will clamp the current output... and meter on the TL only thing that will change is the alt and you can watch the video to verfiy it... i will fully charge the batts between the run... i can compare a bassrace and burp on TL

so if your interesed Rob here is my offer...

I would have to but in and say that way of testing would be quite demotic..

Best way would be to put through a "real" test so that every aspect of each alt is taken into consideration. As far as daily driving and pounding, heat variables and RPM fluctuation.

After all majority of these people interested in dependability of alts are "Daily drivers".

say TnT you arent on the team in Meca called TNT Dynamite Sounds are you? lol
No sir..

That name was actualy a garage kept name me and my friend Tim came up with for in house instals. My name is Travis and his is Tim so we put 2 and 2 together and tried to make it seem undefocated.
