Got my alternator today.(Need help fast.)

Please don't say things when you have no idea what you are talking about.
We have a 5,000 square foot wharehouse, 1,000 square foot fabrication shop (tig, mig, benders, plasma table) a 2,000 square foot machine shop (two CNC 3 axis machines, CNC lathe, and two vertical mills) and a 500 square foot test labritory with over $200K worth of alternator dyno equipment. To say that we are not a "custom shop" simply because we didn't make a dual alternator bracket kit for your truck, is a very ignorant statement.

DC power will sell you a stock housing stator-swapped Denso unit, just like every other alternator company will. It will do OK at higher RPMS, but will have lousy output at idle, and probably NEVER make 250 amps at any RPM. Not to mention, that it will have much less cooling and half the rectifier.

I'm not saying anything bad about DC power, all I'm saying is that we take a very different approach. You can't make an 8" sub moove as much air as a 15" sub, and the same holds true for an alternator. If you want the ultimate in alternator beefyness, sometimes it takes a little "squeezing" to get it in there.
Is this your shop?

That's just how things go in this buisiness- I don't have anything bad to say about DC power, they just have a different product offering that has it's own pros and cons.
Isn't saying this saying doing just that??

Why don't you get your facts straight Matt, any time you want to take this up on "your" dyno, I'll be more than happy to get on a plane and prove you wrong..

Until then, you can keep quiet and stop spreading mis-information... Because according to you, the Denso units we sell which coincidentally actually bolt on peoples cars, have 12 diode rectifiers, cool better, and will flat out embarass those 4G alternators you sell just plain ****?? Keep on digging Matt.....

Oh, I can answer that question for you loop, no, it isn't "Mechmans".... I wont say *who's* it is, but I can tell you for certain, it isn't "Mechmans"....

I had some difficulties with my Mechman alternator as well. My belt would constantly slip no matter how many times (3 times) that I bought a new belt. Mechman insisted is was my tensioner ( I did not think it was though) so I sold the Mechman Alternator cause no matter what I tried the slipping would not go away. Picked up a DB Inter Linc alternator and WA LA! No more belt slipping.
wow how did you buy one i cant even get ahold of anyone at this place i call almost every other to 2 days and jake is never there wish someone would give me a call if i dont here from them soon i am going with someone else

I just wanted to know if the shop in question was the same shop at the same address as the Powermaster shop. I just wanted to know if the "We" in his previous statement meant MechMan & Powermaster?

Since both PM(XS) and MM are in the same building, I just wondered if he was considering the PM shop as his own. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

You have to pay for quality PARKER.sorta like the difference between a pyramid 5000watt amp and a rdaudio d9. ..you can probably get the pyramid for 300$ new. .but what are you accually getting?

call rob at dcpower. .somebody ALWAYS answers there.and why would you want to deal with db when you can even get ahold of them for this long?could you imagine if you ever happend to have an issue with your alt?you would just be screwed

Both you guys over charge for your your alts......
I'm sorry if you feel that we over charge for our alternators. Unfortunately, because we deal STRICTLY with OEM product, we use only handwound stators, and use the highest quality components there are, our alternators are going to be more expensive. If we wanted to be like everyone else, we could just buy chinese alternators and put cheap windings and stock parts in them and lower costs, but that would be contrary to everything our company stands for.

We will still build it bigger, badder, better performing and longer lasting than anyone out there, and I have no problem delivering on that promise...

well im not in here to bash anyone but i dont have $500 to spend on an alt for my car and i did get ahold of him and ordered my alt so we will see ive tried other places and some prices were high but i didnt have money at the time so i went with them but down the road when i finally get my hands on a real audio worthy vehicle i will probably go with dc power heard good things about them and happen to speak with them nice people very smart when coming to alts.

Wow:rolleyes: I can't believe I missed all this.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif From running both alts and from expierance I think I have more than enough room to talk. As far as concidering yourself a true "Custom shop" doesn't that mean you need to venture away from the norm and not build for only 1 specific vehicle for "custom" options? Ignorant statement my ***.. If you have the equipment and knowledge to build "custom" then how hard it could it be? Wouldn't you want the business? Hell PowerMaster even said you could do duals and so I call and speak to Mathew Logan whom which in turn pretty much out right tells me I'm shit out of luck.. If PowerMaster was to go out on a limb and refer me to you dont you think you would've wanted to do something to address the issue? But I'm guessing thats just not how you work either and thats another "Ignorant statement". //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I was wondering when you were going to chime in Robbie. Welcome!!!

As far as saying their prices are too high... DC is like the BUGATTI VEYRON of alternators. So you are getting every penny worth of what you pay for.

I shouldn't even justify any of this B.S. with a response. The fact remains that our reputation for performance, delivery time, and customer satisfaction is seccond to none. You can say whatever you want about our product, what goes around comes around. I don't see why you are so aggressive against us in your marketing, unless of course you feel threatened...

Who we do buisiness with or share resources with is irrelivant. The fact remains that we have enough talent, equipment and capitol in our arena to stay on the cutting edge of technology, and that is exactly what we will do.

As far as not being able to get ahold of anyone- that is rediculous. There is always plenty of people to answer the phone. We perform almost any and all service and repairs THE SAME DAY we recieve them. you can always get ahold of us, often even outside of normal business hours. Have you tried leaving a voicemail with your phone number on it?

Everytime I've needed something from mechman-I called/emailed Matt and he had it taken care of and shipped out and delivered to me in a couple days. I love their customer service and will continue to buy from them.
