Seems like you are having way to many problems for something that should of fit in its right spot. I would of settled on a direct replacement higher output alt. No way would i start cutting wires and hacking brackets to get that to fit.
No wires need to be cut, and no brackets need to be hacked. The installation can be performed with an 8mm, 10mm and 13mm wrench.

bwhahaaha dude your halarious,i accually thought about going with your alts, then when i talked to steve miller, owner of rdaudio and he told me about the 3 alternators and bracket you sold him.not one,not 2 but all 3 of them FAILED within 2 months.. .WOW.is all i have to say, dcpower will BICH SLAP (IS that better proxfaggity?) your stuff.and what are you talking about not putting out at idle?each one of mine does 180+ AT IDLE. ..what now?I guess thats not much huh?psssh get real.
I guess that's why I have an order sitting on my desck for another unit for Steve at RD audio...

Actually, there were two units that came back from RD audio. One unit, he disassymbled and hacked the stator leads because he stripped the threads in the bracket, and couldn't take the bracket off without dis-assymbling the alternator. (because he was selling it to someone else) There wasn't anything wrong with the alternator untill he took a pair of dykes to it.

The seccond unit, the pulley came loose becasue his "mechanic" swapped the pulley and didn't tighten it all the way. We tightened the pulley nut up and it was just fine. (260 amps at 15.2V)

You have a full size GM alternator- We are talking about a tiny Toyota Denso alternator. Please stop typing trash long enough to at least read the thread. 180 amps at idle is IMPOSSIBLE for a stock housing Toyota celica housing.

Thank you for not purchasing our product. By gauging your demeanor and language, I'm sure that you would be nothing but a problem customer anyway.

I'd back Mechman any day. I've seen tons of happy customers. Unless you've had experience with both products first hand, keep your comments to yourself.

I had some difficulties with my Mechman alternator as well. My belt would constantly slip no matter how many times (3 times) that I bought a new belt. Mechman insisted is was my tensioner ( I did not think it was though) so I sold the Mechman Alternator cause no matter what I tried the slipping would not go away. Picked up a DB Inter Linc alternator and WA LA! No more belt slipping.

That's just how things go in this buisiness- I don't have anything bad to say about DC power, they just have a different product offering that has it's own pros and cons.

It's always a 3rd party that has to come in and muck things up with abusive and mis-leading information.

Every product will have some technical issues from time-to-time. What counts, is the percentage of your customers that are satisfied. Our reputation speaks for itself- you can do a search on MechMan alternators on almost any audio forum, and you will find nothing but positive customer feedback.

Going by your sig though you liked them enough to go back to them?

The belt isn't slipping on the DB unit becasue it isn't making as much amperage. The only thing that is going to cause belt slip on a bolt-for-bolt replacement with OEM pulley is the alternators additional rotating resistance, which will always be a by product of making big amperage.
