I would think you should be fine with one group 31 yellow. If you still have dimming issues you could go with one more small battery like a kinetik 600 or something.

I had a similar question but instead of creating a new thread I'd figure I'd post it here. (not trying to thread jack)

I'll be running about the same power, I'll be running an AudioPipe 15001d.

1500rms @ 1ohm.

I'd figure just a Kinetik HC1800 up front to replace the batt under the hood would suffice along with the Big 3? (car is a grand cherokee)

To the OP, perhaps the same battery would help also. Yellowtops are great as well, my friend has one in his Xterra and it's been working great.

if u must use a yellow, but u can get a kinetik 1400 off ebay for $200 shipped. about the same as you would pay for an optima...
