Here's the thing, my buddy is for the most part more concerned with what is under his hood rather than in his trunk, he still runs a decent little setup but is ready to go louder, he's looking for an SQ sub that will get loud with little power 200-500 watts, I think the ascendant audio atlas 12" will be perfect, what do you guys think?

How come no one mentioned Nak subs? The efficiency is really good and the price is pretty low. Also the Adire Shiva.. duh. Alumapro makes some good ones too.. the MX is good the RX needs more watts until it really starts to move.

because adire has almost no stock left, alumapros arent really that big round here... care to link it up? ive seen them a few times i think.

care to elaborate on the nak subs?

Alpine Type X
DO NOT run a Type X off of less than 500 watts, and that is only in a ported box, sealed they need 1000 or they sound like s*&t. JL Audio W3's are a very good choice, sealed they are right in the range of 300-500 watts (for two) and sound great.

Just my $.02
