Gaining voltage

whats all of your guy's tips on gaining voltage? is there anything more you can do than just get an HO alt, Lots of batts and the big 3 or is that about all there is? thanks

Voltage is dependent on the regulator in your alternator. If you are asking about ways to prevent voltage DROP then no there really isn't. But if you want to know how to physically gain voltage, that has to do with your alternator (or if you have an aftermarket alt, the external regulator)

A more efficient amp. Cheaper amps = terribly inefficient.

Yeah, a high output alt with an external reg will bypass it though.

I think Hondas are pretty notorious for that right? Or they won't charge up unless you have a load on, like the A/C?

My tc is that way and there is no way to bypass it. External regs wont work. The MOST is see is 14.2

Not that I have used one, but isnt that what those voltage modules from companies like Missing Link Audio do? I thought the modules bypassed the car's CPU so you could run the alt a higher voltage. Like you guys said, no matter what you do some cars computers will never raise the voltage past a certain point.
