Gain Setting Tutorial

When I tried to measure my Soundstream VGA320.4 to set the gains I got nothing. My volt meter didn't pickup a thing. Tried pluging it in to a wall socket and it read 120. So I must be nuts.

I used a 50 hz sine wave from Treo and didn't get a thing. I will try using leads to get a better connection for the voltmeter. It plays music when I hook up the speakers so I know my RCAs are good.

I guess it runs a Tone Sweep Calibration Routine Automatically configures and optimizes the power supply to the connected speaker load.

I wondered if that might affect it?

finally got my scope...setting gains with this is nothing...just keep turning it up until the sine waves start to have flat tops and back off a little //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

found out my usx4065 is underrated and the cl400 is on point.

STILL not getting any reading on my volt meter. About to throw the thing away and get a new one. If I turn the gain all the way up while running the sine wave it will read 3 volts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif , I just don't get it.

Check the sine wave on my computer and it belched a nice healthy 50 hz tone. So I know the cd is recorded right.

I think it's my volt meter. Gonna have to see if I can get a different one, or use somebody elses for a change.
